Green Patch

This is Green Patch in Jervis Bay National Park on the South Coast of NSW, Australia. This amazing part of the world speaks for itself, so we will let the pictures do the talking. With white sand and crystal clear water, it is easy to spend the day lost in its beauty.

Iao Valley

Iao Valley lays on the edge of the West Maui mountain range, an extinct volcano which is now covered in lush rainforest. It was an amazing place to explore. We found a track which lead away from the hustle and bustle of tourists and takes you on your own little adventure. The path followed a beautiful stream, which flowed down from the mountains. When we were up away from the crowds we found the perfect little swimming hole, nothing more refreshing than a freshwater swim after a long walk. We have been blown away by Maui's landscapes, so different from anything we have back in Australia.

Cape Richie

DSC_2037.jpg

We arrived at Cape Richie campground in Western Australia late at night, in pitch black mystery with no idea what was around us. It is fun falling asleep in surroundings that you don't know anything about. Were we on the water? Were we near endless land to roam? Or were we in for a rude shock that would send us on our way asap. Sure we could look at our map to find out exactly what surrounded us but that's no fun. If we arrive somewhere at night, we love to wake up and go exploring, make an adventure out of our day. The amount of times we have stumbled onto something amazing... this was no exception. We had parked near the entry when we arrived, so when we woke up at dawn we drove around the camp ground to see if there was a better spot for breakfast and found something beautiful... the sun rising over the ocean. We had our favourite breakfast, apple, banana, nuts, dried berries, peaches and LSA mixed with porridge. YUM! Then we set off around the coast line to discover a little more about Cape Richie. Just around the corner was an old farmers hut, which had been home to someone long ago. We ventured a little further, through beautiful rocky outcrops and rolling green hills filled with kangaroos. Then we found the perfect place for our morning swim, a secluded beach with some of the whitest, softest sand we have seen yet. It is amazing to be in the ocean looking back at such beautiful land, and no one to be seen. What an experience, what a rewarding day.

Depot Beach

One of our favourite places on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia, is Depot Beach.  We can drive our van in between the beautiful forest, which has some of our favourite trees and the coast line to find a private little spot to have a surf, swim and some yummy food. It really is a tranquil place to spend the day.

Mumbulla Falls

People sometimes think Bega is just for beautiful farms and a whole lot of Cheese!! We got a secret tip about a natural rock jump and slide so we met up with Matt and Elise from Salt Veins and went on a trek to find this magical place. Our brother Andrew was also along for a taste of van life! Just a short drive out of Bega into heavenly countryside we took a turn on a dirt road and ventured on. Our Mercedes Vito Van did well trying to keep up with Salt Veins Range Rover cruising this way and that through the forest. Upon reaching the car park we jumped in our wet suits for ultimate speed and warmth of course. Walking up stream we were in awe, just surrounded by nature at it's best. We had reached Mumbulla Falls, New South Wales, Australia. We got to the run, jump and slide, we had one of the most special afternoons ever. Sliding and laughing, daring each other to go harder, it was a natural high. We are realising it really pays off to ask locals and fellow campers some of their favourite spots.

Lombok: Mawun Bay

Mawun Bay in Lombok was one of our favourites. It had the most brilliant blue water, green plants and white sand. We took a stand up paddle board out for the afternoon and had such a blast paddling and catching a small right hander.
