Canada

Canada was the last stop on our travels. After seven weeks in the US we spent two more weeks in the town of Banff... and we didn't want to leave! We were lucky to have timed our trip to be there when two of our friends from Australia, Josh and Kobie, were living there. They are some of the best people, letting us stay with them and taking us on all sorts of adventures. Over the two weeks we went snowboarding, we ice skated for the first time on a frozen lake, petted a deer and hiked to the top of a snow covered mountain. Banff is such a magical place and it was so amazing to live like a local for two weeks and meet some very cool people. Canada is one of the most breathtaking alpine places we have been... paradise doesn't have to be tropical.

Breckenridge

We had the best day in Breckenridge, Colorado. Famous for its amazing snow resort, this town has a cute alpine vibe with beautiful buildings housing shops such as Patagonia, North Face and the yummiest crepes we have ever had. After cruising around the town we headed 10 minutes down the road for some hiking. The trailhead was covered in snow so we knew we were in for a treat. We love hiking in the white stuff! We headed off on the Spruce Creek Trail, ready for some alpine exploring. We made it to Beaver Creek and what do you know, we saw a beaver. This little guy was just playing in the icy waters, building himself a killer dam. We took some time to take in the sights and were in awe of our surroundings. As the sun set we headed back to the car and off home. What an amazing day, we are loving every minute of our time in Colorado!

Guthega

Guthega in Kosciuszko National Park has the most amazing views. It is one of our favourite places to ride as we are just in awe every run of how high up we are and the amazing mountain rage that surrounds us. We could sit at the top of Guthega and just stare the day away.

Rainbow Lake

Trekking through Kosciuszko National Park along the Rainbow Lake trail has to be one of the most amazing days we have had together. We are so lucky to experience such beauty, such magic! Australia you continue to impress us!

If you have ever driven up to Perisher car park you would have passed the start of this walking track. There is a chain bay just past the start of the walk, which is signed, that you can park in. You follow the track, walking through gum trees, over creeks and into open snow covered fields until you get to Rainbow lake. What a sight! It is hard to explain the joy you get from being out in nature, but once you try it, it is very addictive. It is the most peaceful experience and when you share it with the people you love... WOW! Get out, get into this beautiful world and remind yourself how lucky you are!

Blue Cow

DSC_5296.jpg

The Australian snow season has started and we are making the most of it, spending a few days at Perisher in Kosciuszko National Park. Today we took a moment from snowboarding to walk to the Blue Cow look out. Its only a short stroll from the summit terminal and worth every step. You can see the mountain range, which is made up of seven of Australia's highest peaks including Australia's highest, Mount Kosciuszk. What an amazing sight, what a special moment.

Perisher

Perisher is an alpine resort in Kosciuszko National Park, NSW, Australia.  We had such a fun season in 2012, couldn't get enough of that powdery goodness.  We take our van down and camp for $10 a night, most people think we're a little crazy for staying in our van but we are very cozy.  We love waking up and being surrounded by kangaroos and having our hot coffee out in the bush, it's the best!
