After our surf lesson with the locals kids, we caught a boat out to surf Serangan. There was no one around, in the surf or on the beach, it was deserted. After a short but fun surf we paddled in to the beach for some exploring. It really felt like we were on a deserted island, with no one around for miles. What a beautiful afternoon escape.

Before our surf at Surangan, Lombok, we came across a group of local kids who were very curious about us and our surf boards. We offered the kids a go on our boards and one thing lead to another. We hung out with the kids, helping them catch waves and pushing them around on our boards. It was such an amazing experience, the kids had such a great time and so did we. Definitely a memory we will have forever.
Elizabeth & Luna are from Lombok, after school they sell hand made bracelets, they can even custom make them for you. We got some ROAR ones made in rainbow colours, they are so cool. Love these happy girls and how they use there talents to help their families. Thanks for our special gifts girls.
For the next few months it is harvest time in Lombok, which is a happy and prosperous time for the locals. It was so amazing to see how these people harvest their crops by hand, the old school way. They are out in the fields with their machetes chopping away, they hit the rice on the ground to separate the seed and dry it on tarps. This hard work keeps the locals pretty fit, we saw some men in their 60's who would give us a run for our money.
Mawun Bay in Lombok was one of our favourites. It had the most brilliant blue water, green plants and white sand. We took a stand up paddle board out for the afternoon and had such a blast paddling and catching a small right hander.
This afternoon we went for a motorbike ride along a stretch of coast we hadn't explored on Lombok. We came across Lobster Bay, a beautiful bay covered in Lobster traps, hence the name.
Another day in paradise... Tanjung Ann Beach Lombok.
