The Redwood National and State Parks on the coast of Northern California are turning out to be one of our favourite stops. We haven't explored such a place, with trees so grand, so old and so tall. It is an amazing experience to walk around the base of a tree that has been there for hundreds of years and to strain your neck back far enough to see the tops of these giants. The Redwoods are also home to herds of Elk, which roam freely around the prairies. It was a treat to see these creatures as we don't have them back home in Australia. Redwood forests are truly a magical place that you can spend all day, just driving or hiking around, taking it all in.
